Editor's note

Welcome to TrainingZone, the independent champion for the training community.

As quickly as the summer arrived, it's gone again, and as we move into September TrainingZone switches focus for the month to the concept of social learning. It's an apposite time of year to concentrate on this method of training, what with a raft of young graduates getting to grips with what for many could be their first 'proper' job, and the myriad of training resources available to them. We have many upcoming features this month from the theory behind the concept to practical application and implementation too, plus analysis of the issues that prevent companies integrating the idea properly.

Don't forget we also have our monthly webinar hosted by Roger Courville, author of 'The Virtual Presenter's Handbook'. This month's subject is 'Build a compelling business case for online training', and you can book your place for that here.

September is where events come thick and fast, and you can meet us at the IITT Training 2010 event (7-8 Sept), the ALT conference (9 Sept), Trainer Talk Live and of course the World of Learning at the end of the month. Drop us an email and I'll come and introduce myself. We also have our member events calendar in our Live Events section so if you would like to add your workshops, drop us a line.

Also, the TrainingZone Shop is now trading, so feel free to browse our training products and resources. If you would like to become a seller, get in touch.

Remember, if you are looking for work, why not use our jobs board run by Changeboard or use the new TrainingZone Directory.

As always we endeavour to make TZ as relevant and interesting as possible, so if you have any ideas, any free resources you would like to share with the community, email me at editor@trainingzone.co.uk.

UPDATE:

On Monday 23 August Verity gave birth to a bouncing baby girl by the name of Elsie. Everyone here at TrainingZone wishes her the best and if any members would like to pass on their regards I'll be sure to let her know.
