Six people have been injured after taking part in a fire walk

Back to blog homepage for: Platt's Puzzlings

Two articles focussing on a recent event in Hull where a Fire Walking exercise took place, with disastrous results for some people it seems. However, it is their own fault, they clearly didn’t ‘believe’ enough.

The issues I would like to explore are what were the performance gaps that this event was going to help address? And is anything now being done faster, quicker or better as a result of this experience and how is it being measured? I suspect there are no answers of any significance or measurable import to any of these questions.

The video he has on his site is a hoot as well, using special effects people are shown engulfed in flames.

The CMI is concerned that too few managers are taking a break this year, and won’t get the chance to recharge their batteries. What situation are you in? Are you holidaying this year?

The CMI has a range of resources to help support managers so they can take a breather, like the delegation checklist on TrainingZone.
