360 Degree Feedback and Talent Management

My name is Jo Ayoubi and I've been working with L&D Professionals for the last 10 years using 360 Degree Feedback to develop, support and measure learning and training activities. Now more than ever it's really important that talented people are identified, developed and supported, and I'd like to share my experiences of this with anyone who's got an interest in this subject.
I'm particularly focused on using technology to simplify and speed up the gathering and analysis of data for talent management, so would love to know what issues are facing professionals in this area and what your ideal world would look like.

Lord Sugar admits he made a mistake

My estimation of (Lord) Alan Sugar went up hugely last night on The Apprentice when he admitted he'd made a mistake keeping Stuart Baggs The Brand in the competition last week. Not sure that 'you're full of ****' is good feedback but I was glad that SBTB had been rumbled at last.

The discussion in our office this morning was how on earth Lord AS hadn't previously noticed Stuart's tendency to embellish the truth, lie and trample on his colleagues!

We watched the first episode of this year's The Apprentice with the usual mixture of shock, horror and deja-vu.
Dan was the losing project manager. It's fascinating to see how lack of self-awareness +
apparently limitless self-confidence + pressure = disasterous leadership.

This article about employee engagement in the Guardian got me thinking today about the most highly engaged group you could ever get: entrepreneurs. They work late and at weekends, don't take holidays, earn less than their employees and generally suffer from terminal optimism!
