Content provider for LMS….help and ideas needed

default-16x9

Hi,

We are currently in the process (early stages) of finding an LMS provider and content providers alongside it to provide training modules for my company. We have over 1000+ staff who will have access to the LMS and content will vary from off-the-shelf (finance, health and safety, etc...) to fully customised learning using content from the business.

The LMS provider we will be using use SCORM so I understand that should give us a great deal of choice in providers.

I'd be really interested in recommendations of providers who can can supply the modules and shape them according to our needs and to deliver the best learning outcomes. If anyone has any hints and tips on things to look out for or pitfalls when going through this process it would be really useful.

Thanks in advance for any help and guidance you can offer.

Hi KyleB, my recommendation would be to not go down the SCORM route as it will be defunct in the near future. The limitation of SCORM is that you have to do the full lesson which may take 15-20 or 30 mins. What is better is bite-sized learning content that is available on-demand. You can still create bite sized learning with SCORM but I would say that interactive video technology will replace SCORM pretty soon.
I would talk to Accredited Skills about their content – they have great content and customer friendly contarct packages i.e. not a cost per licence. I’m no expert but think their content could be delivered in the type of LMS you describe.
