Why HR managers struggle to reach the boardroom

default-16x9

A few weeks ago I wrote an article with a story about HR managers moving into a Managing Director role. Replies and comments to that article are still rolling in. A few common threads are beginning to appear however which may be worth sharing or inviting further comment on.

The crux of the points made fall into the following areas:

1.The HR function suffers a carry over of being a lowly and menial task from its historical development.

2.Board positions carry the need for directors to be multifunctional and not function specific.

3.HR Managers are their own worst enemy.
