Continuing Professional Development (CPD)

Learning doesn't finish when you leave school – it happens every day until you shuffle off this mortal coil. Also, don't expect your line manager or HR department to map out a CPD plan for you. They might, but the more control and proactivity you can bring to your own learning destiny the better. Modern resources available to employees are everywhere, led of course by the MOOC phenomenon. Aside from any mandatory CPD that is part of your job progression, a short course here or there to compliment any new skills learned in the classroom can cement that new info forever. And it shows initiative.
