'Head of training', 'training director', 'chief learning officer' all describe broadly similar positions in a given business, namely the person responsible for the L&D and training of staff. In smaller businesses this responsibility is often part of the HR manager's remit. Disambiguation: On the other side of the coin, i.e. in some vendor organisations, the position of head of training also exists, and their role is to manage the trainers who represent the vendor, as well as leading the software developments and techniques the vendor reps will use.
