The judges at the 2011 E-Learning Awards praised the unique qualities of the service: Brightwave’s achievement with LiveTime is to wrap these skills into an interactive learning experience … "This project’s infrastructure and investment demonstrated a clear and positive implementation of how best to harness the power of synchronous learning."

Plugging the training gap through innovation

LiveTime Learning MD, Matt Turner said:  "LiveTime has established itself as a powerful, time- efficient and cost-effective solution that can accelerate key business skills organisation-wide.  Now in its second year, it continues to break new ground imaginatively using social media and mobile devices to support the live sessions and increase access. Winning this award is a fantastic result for LiveTime and the Brightwave team. Thanks must also go to the early client adopters of the service who have helped shape LiveTime into an award-winner. "

The need for flexible, live online training has never been greater with the results of the Towards Maturity Benchmark study 2011 revealing that three-quarters of organisations are using some form of live online learning environment.  Virtual classrooms are set for the biggest growth, with 60% of organisations planning new investment in this area and nine out of ten stating that live online learning will help them tackle the skills shortfall either now or in the future.

Case study: LiveTime solves complex training needs for DAC Beachcroft

DAC Beachcroft, one of the largest commercial law firms in the UK, provides services from New Zealand, Singapore, Brussels and Dublin in addition to 8 UK offices - which makes training staff in best practice and business skills a difficult task.

DAC Beachcroft took the decision to implement LiveTime to deliver live online training to all 1,500 UK based staff to fill a gap in soft skills training within the organisation. As well as seeing reductions in trainer and travel costs, 75% of participants are putting their learning immediately into action. The law firm recommends sessions according to each employee's performance requirements and supplements communication skills with a reduced level of classroom training.

Karen Ramsay, Head of Learning and Development at DAC Beachcroft LLP said: "Brightwave has re-defined the boundaries and re-invigorated the workforce with this highly engaging, and exciting training channel. This innovative method of training gives people in all areas of our business a great opportunity to learn about the topics they need to do their jobs effectively".
