Learning and Development practitioners awarded new CIPD qualification

The first 60 participants to achieve the CIPD’s new Certificate in Learning and Development Practice are graduating from their programmes with DPG – a leading national provider of CIPD qualifications in HR and Learning and Development.
The new Level 3 CIPD Certificate in Learning and Development Practice (CLDP) replaced the Certificate in Training Practice, and is the benchmark qualification for Training and Learning & Development professionals.
DPG CIPD Centre Director Sarah McEvoy said: “We are the first national CIPD centre in the UK to award the CLDP and our participants are amongst the first people in the UK to gain this qualification. This is a fantastic achievement and one they should be very proud of.
“The programme is designed to minimize participants’ time out of the office, with just nine activity based workshops spread over eight months. Our programmes are designed with the latest thinking in mind. They model accelerated learning techniques and are 100% business focused. Our participants don’t just get a qualification they get a high energy, development experience that helps to propel their careers and organizations alike”.
The programme is aimed at aspiring or existing trainers or learning and development professionals, or those looking for a strong grounding in L&D essentials.
DPG was the first national CIPD centre to offer the new Certificate and already has 60 successful participants who have completed their programmes, with more scheduled to gain the qualification over the next two to three months.
The programme includes the following units:
- Undertaking a Learning Needs Analysis
- Delivering Learning & Development Activities
- Evaluating Learning & Development Activities
- Developing Coaching Skills for the Workplace
- Understanding Organisations and the Role of Learning & Development
- Developing yourself as an effective Learning & Development Practitioner
- Recording, Analysing and Using Learning & Development information
Participants on the programme have enjoyed the experience and are putting their new skills into practice with gusto. Their comments include:

DPG is also approved by the CIPD to deliver the new Certificate in HR Practice and Diploma in L&D Management at Level 5 throughout the UK.
