Badges for staff development

I am collating examples of how businesses use 'badges' or 'pins' to identify staff who have achieved internal training levels (like the McDonalds 'star' badges)

Can you help me with details of any companies you know/work for and how they

  1. determine/assess competence
  2. ensure consistency across multi-site environments
  3. brief their management teams to deliver
  4. timeline expectations of achievement
