The benefits of training with CMI

default-16x9

Being the only charted professional body of leadership and management, the Chartered Management Institute (CMI) provides assurance that CMI qualifications are of the highest quality. If you are thinking about training with CMI, take a look at the following ways a CMI qualification will give your career, your employees, or your team a boost.

Every year, more than 30,000 people choose to study a CMI qualification. With only one in five managers having a recognised management qualification, being CMI-qualified gives managers the edge when applying for positions and as a means of getting a promotion within an organisation.

A diverse choice of qualifications to choose from

There is much more to quality management other than possessing good team leadership skills. Quality and comprehensive management is all about being able to coach, mentor, delegate, and more.

With CMI, managers can concentrate training on specific areas of leadership and management, as there are 110 qualifications to choose from. These qualifications range from Team Leading, Strategic Management, Coaching, Mentoring and more.

Having such a diverse range of qualifications available, CMI training is suitable for all levels of managers and team leaders, ranging from first line managers to CEOs. CMI Level 3 First Line Management qualifications, for example, are developed for junior managers, supervisors and first line managers, who wish the develop and build on existing management skills and knowledge.

Increase performance

By learning new skills and being professionally qualified in specific areas of management, the performance of CMI-qualified managers is typically increased. By performing better within a company, managers with a CMI qualification to their name, are more likely to be put forward for a promotion and thereby dramatically boost their career prospects.

According to CMI, over 80% of managers say taking a qualification in management led to increased professional recognition. 53% of managers confirm that their qualification paid a significant role in them gaining a promotion.

A flexible training solution

CMI qualifications are inherently flexible, giving trainees the flexibility to train in their own time and at their own pace. Learners can choose to either study locally at one of CMI’s 600 plus Approved Centres or online, through a Distance Learner Provider.

CMI trainees are also well supported throughout their training. They are provided with the necessary resources and support for their specific qualification. Throughout the duration of the course, trainees are given free CMI membership, meaning they have access to all key membership services.

Becoming more employable

For employers, encouraging managers to train for a CMI qualification will mean managers will transfer their new skills into the workplace and ultimately benefit the performance of their team. In fact, 78% of employers agree that qualifications provide quality assurance for customers that they are in capable hands and that the money, time and effort that goes into gaining management and leadership qualifications is invaluable.

How to get started with CMI courses

In order to get started with a CMI qualification, managers of all levels and abilities, or their employers, should download CMI’s qualifications brochure and put themselves on the road to greater management success.
