How ironic that 70 years ago it was our resilient defence that saw us through, but this year our defensive radar was firmly switched off... Could it be something to do with super-inflated salaries = no sense of moral duty = heart not really in the fight? Could we draw parallels with the state of the economy and investment bankers' bonuses? Ok, that's enough insinuation from me.
