TrainingZone Live – thoughts of a Training Manager part 3

default-16x9

I can't believe it's been over a week since TZ Live 2010. I've been lucky enough to have had a week's 'holiday' this week (that is to say, lots of DIY round the house. Joy!), so I have had plenty of time, whilst painting my kitchen ceiling wishing I was out in the sun, to ponder last week's event. This got me thinking - what could next year's TZ Live look like? What else would make it even better? What could people have done without, and what would they like to see again next year? Did people feel it was value for money, overpriced or cheap at half the price?

I'd like to invite any readers of this blog to post their thoughts, whether they went or not. For good measure, I'll start things off...

1.) How about a talk on taking Coaching to the front line - i.e. not 'executive' coaching, but how to use the same tools and techniques in an 'everyday' setting at work and instill a positive Coaching culture.  Maybe sharing some hints and tips -  a really interactive mini-workshop?

2.) The price - I thought it was great value for money, when you consider the speakers who were there, the knowledge that was shared and the fact that it wasn't just a 'pitching' arena. However, I'd be lying if I said I wasn't a bit sceptical before I arrived, having experienced these sort of things before, but I was genuinely pleased that it was a far more positive experience, and I feel more inclined to stay in contact with others I spoke to than I would have done otherwise...there's some truth in the saying 'people buy people' after all!

3.) Perhaps some sort of group activity might have broken the ice and widened networking opportunities further? I know that might sound at odds with my last point, but it might have created an even greater 'community' spirit, especially if this could have been linked to some sort of follow up after the event, either online or in person - some sort of competition or forum?

Over to you lot now. Ideas on a postcard etc...
