What do you think are the characteristics that a leader needs to possess? Can someone possess all these traits that have mentioned? Among the traits, what do you think should be the first and foremost that a leader should possess? can this trait be developed if not innate in a leader? Please help me to clarify things in leadership. thank you

Many people think that thier own characteristics make them leaders….sadly this tends to make them concentrate too much on themselves and their own behaviours.
In order to be a real leader you need to have followers….concentrating on them is what makes a real leader a leader, because people will follow them voluntarily and to the ends of the earth…..
…even if only out of blind curiousity!

What or who makes a leader?
I agree with Russ to a point but there seems to be a move now that creating followers is not enough that the true characteristic of a leader is about how many new leaders they are creating.
A great video from TED (Derek Sivers) and on youtube is the "Lone Nut"…..all about creating a movement from being the first follower who ultimately becomes the new leader.
