E-mailed based questionnaire

Hi

Does anyone know of any tool or template that would allow me to create an evaluation questionnaire which I could send out to our staff via e-mail, and analyse the results? I would like to do it this way as the response would likely be better than using a paper-based survey.

You may like to investigate a package called Keypoint available on www.camsp.com/keypoint. I used its paper-based predecessor 'Pinpoint' and was always very satisfied with it.

I did one some years back on Excel on a drive that all could access.
It worked well and cost nothing to buy in.

The advantage of the traditional "happy sheet" on a piece of paper is the "Please fill it in before you leave" bit that means it is done and dusted rather than having to chase people after the event to complete an e-mail or online version.

The advantage of the e version is that you don't have to re-key data, you get instant analysis and you give delegates time to think before completing the evaluation.

As with all evaluation the most important bits are the questions you ask and what you do with the answers. The method has less impact....but I'm all for the paperless office!

...as it's for the evaluation of a long running training initiative, not just a one off classroom event. I'd prefer to ry Excel though, so I'll ask the Help function and see what I can do!

With most people being very pressed for time, an e-mailed evaluation can easily get left in the intray.

Ask yourself who benefits from the evaluation. You'll be more likely to get a healthy rate of return if you build in something for the people filling in your questionnaire. I'd love to think they'd be motivated solely by the opportunity to review their own learning. If this doesn't happen however, and if the budget stretches to it, you might offer to enter the names of those who respond by a certain date into a prize draw.

My company bought a copy of SNAP surveys over two years ago, Its easy to use once you have the hang of it and it also carries out detailed analysis on your results. We use it both internally for attitude surveys, and externally for carrying out market research programmes for clients.
