eLearning Author – what does it take to become one?

default-16x9

Hi.

Quite by chance, I've found myself working on a blended learning course - which is a great amount of fun and is well received by the participants.

Now I want more. So, my question: if i want to do more eLearning authoring, what skills and knowledge would you recommend? And where could I get it (books, magazines, websites, MOOCs)?

Perhaps a bit of background would also be helpful: I'm a technical writer turned business writer and business writing editor/trainer/coach. Which means that I know how to break even complex topics down and make them interesting and understandable and that I've got a good technical background.

Thanks,

Jens

  1. TAP Training

    Hi Jens.

Sorry to respond with the obvious here from my perspective as my company provides expertise on developing authoring expertise and blended learning. We can provide a robust approach to both Blended/eLearning and train people properly in the use of two of the main authoring tools. Pleaser review our training qualifications programme framework at http://www.tap-training.com

  2. Try the articulate blog

    Hi Jens,

Try the Rapid Articulate blog. Tom Kuhlmann gives great advice on it. Personally it's the best blog I have found on e-learning. There lots of resources on their and a great community. And you don't have to be an articulate user to make use of it. I don't use articulate at all but I found it very useful. Here is the link: http://www.articulate.com/rapid-elearning/

Cathy Moore also gives some great advice around e-learning. Here is her blog site url – http://blog.cathy-moore.com/

    Hope this helps
