Freelance Trainer Contract

default-16x9

Hi All,

I am looking for a freelance trainer contract. We are providing training courses and would like to hire trainers to deliver the courses. We do not hire them as employee. I need freelance trainer contract template.

What should we consider in contract? Does the course material will be our IP? How can we prevent the trainer not to deliver the course to someone else while we provide all materilas to him/her?

Thanks,

Mary

    Hi Mary

It really depends on whether you are asking a trainer to deliver your materials or you are asking them to develop the materials and then deliver them. If we are asked to do the latter, the materials are ours. However, there are also circumstances where we might be asked to produce materials for an organisation to deliver themselves, in which case that would be a separate charge. If you are providing all the materials you need a clause that says that the materials are your copyright and cannot be used outside your organisation. Any reputable trainer would agree to that. By the same token, we have an agreement with companies that states that our materials cannot be used unless it’s for the programme that we deliver. There’s no one-size-fits-all. It all depends on your needs.
