Intranet site ideas

default-16x9

Hi,

I have been given the oportunity to have a page dedicated to ICT training on my companies intranet site. I do not have much imagination when it comes to things like this so am looking for ideas.

The pages that have been created so far are pretty standard, but I would like to create something with exciting content that will make it not only useful but also interesting for people to visit it.

Any suggestions would be much appreciated.

Thanks

Caz

  1. Get someone in

My advice would be to get someone in for a few days to create the site for you. It doesnt cost that much and the end result will be a professional looking site rather than a dodgy attempt at web design.

If you don't know anyone I can recommend a few people who can do it.

  2. (THIS COMMENT HAS BEEN HONEY-BLOCKED!)

    Hi Steve,

We already have a company in creating the site but this particular page on the intranet site is in fact my space to add what content I would like.  So I am just looking for ideas of good content for an ICT training page.

I am thinking of adding User guides, video's, tip of the week etc, but just wondering if anyone has such an intranet page which has something that they particularly find useful or even fun.

  3. Lingcars

Sorry didnt read your question properly.

http://www.lingscars.com/ is one of the most successful websites. It breaks all the rules but most people hang around much longer than they do on "conventional" sites. Everything from a Chicken cam to a singing Chinese girl and "stupid game"

I also got my car from Ling so it does actually makes you buy if you hang around long enough!

  4. Why do people use the intranet?

I'd want to find out the search terms for the intranet at present and the most used pages and content.  Creating great content that no-one uses is wasted effort and resource.

Most intranets are just phone directories and we spend time agonising over details which many people may not ever look at.
