Is YOUR job boring?

default-16x9

This article from the BBC raises the spectre of boredom becoming a formally recognised cause of stress - it got me thinking- What is it that makes a job boring for any one particular person? Bearing in mind that we are all different and that some people love doing what others would pay good money not to do.

Only if we can identify the things that create a boring job, have we any chance as managers of helping our people to remain enthused, engaged and employed.

I can’t find any studies that analyse the factors that create boredom so I have created a very short survey- one single question! Surely no one can be bored by that?

If you’d like to take part in the first ever survey into what constitutes boredom please take a moment out of your thrilling, exciting and wonderful day. Visit: https://www.surveymonkey.co.uk/r/L55T2LH

Once there is a good cohort of responses I’ll publish the outcomes and start looking into practical ways to reduce boredom in the workplace.

Thanks in anticipation and please pass this on to other people who might be bored enough to follow the survey link and add to the sum of human knowledge.
