MBTI exercises

Does anyone have any quick, fun exercises for illustrating or suggesting MBTI preferences? I have some already: For the SN dichotomy, create a pile of objects and ask them to write down a description. S types write exactly what they see; N types describe the impression it gives. For the JP dichotomy, ask them to describe their workspace. J types are usually tidy and organized, P types less so (I say usually as I'm quite a tidy P!) Do you have similar things for EI and NF?

    some years ago a Myers Briggs trainer showed me a series of prayers based on MBTI types.

    ISTJ: Lord help me to relax about insignificant details beginning tomorrow at 11:41.23 am e.s.t.

    ISTP: God help me to consider people’s feelings, even if most of them ARE hypersensitive.

    ESTP: God help me to take responsibility for my own actions, even though they’re usually NOT my fault.

    ESTJ: God, help me to not try to RUN everything. But, if You need some help, just ask.

    ISFJ: Lord, help me to be more laid back and help me to do it EXACTLY right.#

    ISFP: Lord, help me to stand up for my rights (if you don’t mind my asking).

    ESFP: God help me to take things more seriously, especially parties and dancing.

    ESFJ: God give me patience, and I mean right NOW.

    INFJ: Lord help me not be a perfectionist. (did I spell that correctly?)

    INFP: God, help me to finish everything I sta

    ENFP: God,help me to keep my mind on one th-Look a bird-ing at a time.

    ENFJ: God help me to do only what I can and trust you for the rest. Do you mind putting that in writing?

    INTJ: Lord keep me open to others’ ideas, WRONG though they may be.

    INTP: Lord help me be less independent, but let me do it my way.

    ENTP: Lord help me follow established procedures today. On second thought, I’ll settle for a few minutes.

    ENTJ: Lord, help me slow downandnotrushthroughwatIdo.

  2. MBTI exercises
    Here are a couple of exercises for the EI and the TF dichotomies as requested.

    Conversation sticks (EI)
    Give 3 or 4 counters (matches, sweets, pencils, etc.) to each person. Divide into groups of up to 6, with a mix of E and I. Get them to discuss a topic of interest and put a counter in the middle each time they talk / make a contribution. When they have used all their counters up they can’t talk again until everyone has used up their counters. After 5 mins stop the discussion and discuss process.
    Who ran of counters first?
    How did they feel when they ran out?
    Did the Is feel uncomfortable in being forced to talk?
    Who talked the longest?

    Budget cuts (TF)
    Select two people – one Feeling, one Thinking. Tell them that they are the head of HR and that they need to make an employee redundant due to budget cuts. Get someone else to be the employee. Ask one to go first and the other to wait outside (to reduce influence!). Run the role play.
    The F will not find it easy, apologising for having to do it and look to console the person. The T will be more rational, objective and direct.

    In the North West we have a very active MBTI practitioner’s group that meets monthly to share ideas and resources like this. Let me know if you need any further information.
