Taster sessions

default-16x9

Hi everyone

I have just developed a new course and want to start marketing it. I was thinking of running a series of taster sessions to gather some interest. I wanted to know if anyone has done this before and were you successful?

  1. Hi Carol, I’ve never sold
Hi Carol, I’ve never sold courses but have purchased and I can say that we wouldn’t but without getting a taster. I think in this day and age the way you do it is the most important thing. Not sure who your course is aimed at but could you use someone like your local chamber of commerce to invite you along to one of their events to run a taster so there’s a ready-made audience. Are there any local groups that meet and have breakfast meetings.
If it’s aimed at up-skilling in-house L & D people could you go along to networking events and present it to them.
If you are selling nationally, could you video segments of it and upload it to a website – that part of the site might require a level of sign-up before they can access the taster material.
I think a taster would be a standard requirement in this day and age but using existing groups or making it accessible for people digitally might take the pain out of it for you.

  2. Hi Carol, I agree with Clive
Hi Carol, I agree with Clive that it depends on the scale of the marketing you want to do – but creating some video segments would be very helpful and easy to get across to a larger audience than face-to-face taster sessions, but likewise presenting to people will also improve your connections and networks as you can make more of an impression and clarify things in person.
