Training Database

default-16x9

I am a training officer with a blank sheet to set up a training function with a company 100-150 employees. Can anyone advise on what considerations are needed to set up the training database?

  1. Training Needs Analysis
    Hi

A useful starting point might be to get in touch with your Sector Skills Council (if one has been set up in your area) to ask about help for TNAs. As an SME there are occasionally pots of funding to help do this, which is a very focussed way of getting off the ground. SSCs can ve accessed via their regulatory body the Sector Skills Development Agency, http://www.ssda.org.uk

Alternatively I can thoroughly recommend spending some time with Communications in Action. Run by Peter Freeth, he is very effective at helping organisations (and especially SMEs) ask the right questions – and so develop the best answers in te most cost effective manner and focussed very clearly on what your business needs are. http://www.ciauk.com

    Kind Regards

  2. Recommended supplier – MoorHits
If you are looking for an internet based database I would strongly recommend speaking to Craig Worcester at Moorhits.com. They’ve developed a Learning Management System which is now being used in the care industry as well as our website, which is also database driven.

  3. Best tool I could find!
Been there, done that – but for 2,500 employees. The best tool that I could find (not some huge “learning mgt system”) was a great training module of a Compliance Suite. It is very affordable, MS Access platform, well supported, easy to use and is designed to help manage the training process. Go to http://www.rmssystems.com

  4. Beadware LMS
    Pamela,

There is a company called Beadware (http://www.Beadware.com) which we have used before for clients in a similar situation to yourself.

It is a very affordable LMS complete with an assessment and TNA tool. It also benfits from add-ons such as a 360 feedback tool and a recruitment competency kit.

They are very good and will work with you to develop the functionality you require.

    Hope this helps.
