What a day, four quality, at times mind-bending sessions from Peter Honey, Jim Kirkpatrick, Nigel Harrison and Barrie Watson intersperesed with discussions between some of the most enthusiastic and professional training managers I have met for a while.
Financially things are tight so maybe the decision not to attend was part of an economy drive.
Following yesterdays mental assault course I know I will be produce a much better return on the investment my company makes in training over the next twelve months.
I also have several excellent new contacts in various industries who have tackled issues I have yet to deal with and I have agreed to share on things we have done in specific areas.
A really enjoyable and productive day, hats off to the team at Sift who have created a premium brand event and I look forward to the next event.
Maybe some of the other attendees could write in and give thier views?

Reason for my non-attendance is …
… I’m attending a training course (self funded) on May 27th/28th so I couldn’t afford both events financially nor timewise. Glad to hear it was so enjoyable, must make a point to put into the diary for next time, maybe we’ll cross paths next year. 🙂
Excellent event
Having won a ticket on TZ I was always going get value from the day yesterday; I didn’t expect to get as much as I did!
The opportunity to discuss evaluation theory and practice with Jim Kirkpatrick was fantastic and his session has re-energised my thinking of what actions we take.
Peter Honey’s session informed me to a point where a difficult decision I have to make over a planned intervention is no longer difficult.
An excellent day…although shouldn’t that be Return on Expectation now Nick? 😉
Time and Place
Will be very keen to attend future events if they are not based in London! When you factor in the cost of the ticket, the train fare down, hotel fees and extra childcare, it does turn into an expensive do for an independent trainer! The timing also coincided with lots of subscriptions needed to be renewed and other PD events, as well as existing work commitments!

One of the best conferences I have ever attended!
I was able to attend and it was an inspirational event. While it was wonderful to hear from iconic speakers like Honey and Kirkpatrick, the standard of all the speakers was incredibly high and Nigel Harrison was a particular highlight – my company seems to specialise in "solutioneering"! My only slight problem is that I have a full personal learning log including a long list in the "what is the first thing you will do?" column – and I’m not sure where to start or how to fit all the things I want to do in! Put next year’s dates in your diary ASAP.

I wasn’t at TZ Live because I and another trainer were delivering the training programme we developed on a pro bono basis (via the wonderful http://www.ukcharitydays.co.uk) for a brilliant charity, http://www.startupnow.org.uk.
This training was attended by 11 fantastic people who had all given up a days pay to attend the training in order to be "qualified" to commit to work for nothing for a couple of hours a month for two years minimum.
This week is the 70th anniversary of the evacuation of Dunkirk; this miracle was made possible by ordinary people being prepared to make a sacrifice and help others out of a difficult situation. Let’s rekindle the "Dunkirk Spirit"
My hope that is people who read this response won’t think I’m being precious or self righteous, but will take the opportunity to have a look at what they might be able to do in these difficult economic times to help other people who are having a rough time.

Hi Rus, the event you were at sounds excellent. I think the Dunkirk spirit is all around and has never gone away. I work with a team all year round including many young people who provide hundreds of hours voluntary work each year within the Scout association.
