BBC Worldwide's Adult Learning Department has been voted favourite training provider in a poll of training professionals.

The department was awarded Training Provider of the Year at this year's World of Learning Conference and Exhibition (WOLCE).

Jonathan Drake, director of adult learning at the BBC said that the award was 'a great achievement'.

'We have made huge efforts to adapt to the changing trends in the market... Winning Training Provider of the Year is an important recognition of our success,' he said.

Other winners at the WOLCE awards in Birmingham earlier this week included Autonomy Media, KnowledgePool, Impatica, Spring IT Training, and PC Coaching.

In the people section of the awards independent consultant Judith Christian-Carter won Outstanding Contribution to the Training Industry, Sue Horder of Airbus UK won Learning Resource Centre Manager of the Year and Molly Lewins of PS People Specialists won the New Learner Award.

Organiser of WOLCE Mel Stride said of this year's winners 'the standard has risen again'.
