Facilitators: what would you do if ….?

default-16x9

The Facilitation Factory website has an interesting dilemma page where you can 'vote' on your preferred response. The current question is:

WHAT TO DO?

In a session, the discussion has turned away from the objectives. However, it is still digging out deep and sensitive issues.
DO YOU:

A. Move the discussion back to the topic on hand by pointing out to the group that they are digressing.
B. Allow the discussion to go on, since other deep issues are being explored, which might ultimately contribute to the growth of the workshop team and adjust your schedule by leaving out one of the planned steps.
C. Make a conscious effort to identify the issues, write them down and bring the discussion back on track
D. Allot a specific time, during or at the end of the day, so that the team can go back and discuss the issue
