New coaching resources added to the TrainingZONE Library

This month sees a whole range of packages designed to help you plan, establish and sustain an effective coaching or mentoring programme in your organisation added to the TrainingZONE Library.

As with all the other materials in the Library, this latest batch has been designed by TrainingZONE members, for TrainingZONE members. Written and designed by Scott G. Welch of CAVU Performance Solutions to support competence-based development of workplace coaches and mentors, the packages are designed for individuals, managers or organisations who require validated, flexible content-rich coaching and mentoring learning and development resources.

Titles include the Coaching for Top Performance PowerPoint Presentation and Workbook and Study Guide, the Coaching Development Needs Analysis Tool, Mentoring Assessment Matrices and Feedback and Action Planning Tools.

    About the author

    Scott G. Welch’s leadership and performance improvement insights owe much to his defining experiences in progressively responsible hands-on and systems management roles in US Navy career service. In an era of constrained resources, turbulent social change and rapid technological development, he coached high performing teams to record setting operational achievements, including six consecutive ‘best in class’ team excellence awards.

    As a curriculum developer, he designed and validated learning materials subsequently adopted for service-wide use by over 16,000 officers and technical specialists. In command-level roles, he evaluated strategic people development initiatives, implemented continuous improvement systems, designed competence-based qualification programmes and designed structured mentoring programmes for midshipmen, junior officers and sailors to facilitate rapid professional qualification and leadership development. He was recognised as a Master Training Specialist and selected for postgraduate-level air controller training at Topgun: the ultimate train-the-trainer experience.

    In the corporate sector, Mr Welch has designed quality assurance systems, led company development programmes and implemented continuous improvement projects. As a corporate trainer specialising in performance improvement and leadership development, he has designed and delivered accredited and customized learning and business development programmes which have resulted in measurable business improvements. An accredited Investors in People Adviser (Leadership and Management Model specialist), he has also implemented and assessed EFQM Business Excellence Model programmes.

    Mr. Welch holds assessed membership of the Chartered Management Institute, the Institute of Leadership and Management and the Irish Institute of Training and Development. He is also a member of the American Society for Training and Development. His qualifications include a BSc in Workforce Education and Development, a postgraduate-level management diploma, and vocational management and training practitioner qualifications, including the D32/33 Assessor Awards.
