West Yorkshire-based training company Direct Training Limited is celebrating after being awarded a grade 1 “outstanding” in each of four areas of learning by the government’s Adult Learning Inspectorate (ALI).

Direct Training was awarded the highest grade 1 in each of the following – leadership and management, equality of opportunity, quality assurance and foundation programmes.

The Adult Learning Inspectorate also awarded Direct Training a grade 2 “good” for its information and communication technology (ICT) programme.

ALI said that only a handful of organisations in the country have ever achieved such high grades in so many areas of their work.

Janet Taylor, Direct Training’s Managing Director, said: “Staff morale is very high throughout the company – we are all enjoying being the best.

"We had a very positive inspection with excellent feedback from the inspectors. It has given us an incentive to work hard to keep our grade one status.”
