InfoSource’s Designer & Uxbridge College
form an ideal IT partnership

InfoSource have recently delivered a number of computer based training products to Uxbridge College, which includes InfoSource’s product Designer, the do-it-yourself computer-based test maker. InfoSource products are part of Uxbridge College’s extensive investment in computer hardware, software and specialist staffing. This huge investment has earned Uxbridge College the title of leading college in the use of information technology in West London and has become a role model for other colleges that want to follow suit.

Uxbridge are using InfoSource computer based training products to develop the IT skills of their students and staff. As an extension to this training Uxbridge are also using InfoSource’s product Designer to develop a unique IT training curriculum.

Browser technology has been used to develop an online induction. Embedded within this induction is an assessment, which has been developed using InfoSource’s Designer. This assessment provides interactive activity, which produces printed evidence of successful, or otherwise, completion. The use of Designer’s technology has reduced the induction period from 3 hours to 1 hour per use. This in turn allows the support staff additional time to provide further support to students.

Uxbridge have also used Designer in other curriculum areas as an assessment tool allowing staff to produce subject specific on-line assessments.
