cheap PDA which will allow password protection of files

default-16x9

I run a training exercise which requires teams to crack codes which give them access to further information. This runs fine on laptops, as teams enter a password to open a MSWord document. But laptops are an expensive and bulky solution. Does anyone know of a cheap electronic organiser which allows password protection of memo files? I know I could use Psions/Palms but this is still too much of a "sledgehammer to crack a nut". Many thanks.

  1. Locks
Would it be possible to use cheap boxes and bike locks which use particular sequences of numbers to open them rather than resorting to IT equipment?
