default-16x9

Are there any examples of a good strategy document out there that I can have a look at?

I have a PowerPoint at http://www.e-indego.com that may be useful. It looks at e-learning implementation based on steps to manage change from the emotional intelligence viewpoint.(http://eiconsortium.org )Also, be sure you are up-to-date on the company’s mission and strategic initiatives and incorporate those into your program. You could also look at Jeanne Meister’s work on Corporate Universities. (http://www.corpu.com)

    Karen

You may want to have a look at Marc Rosenberg’s book on elearning strategy. I don’t think there is a particular format for a strategy which you can take from one environment to another, but the key question is “why do we need to do this” in relationship to the needs of the business. It should also set the scene for what is likely to happen at the operational level.
One thing I would say is to be careful of having an elearning strategy without a learning strategy! In this respect, learning technologies should be used to help turn a learning strategy and operational reality and there is always a danger of failing to address
what needs to happen in terms of training and learning which is not resolved using the technologies

    Hi Karen,

In addition to the other suggested resources you could try the books “The e-Learning Revolution” by Martyn Sloman or “Exploring e-Learning” by E Pollard & j Hillage. Both give very good starting points for your specific needs. If you would like to talk further about your situation, please feel free to contact me.

  5. Join the Forum
    Karen,

Are you a member of the Forum for Technology in Training? It’s a good place to meet knowledgeable people and get ideas.

Your e-learning strategy needs to be aligned to your organisation’s business strategy. Doing that is a longer discussion than is possible in this Zone. Do you want to email or call me?

  7. E-Learning Strategy
I would guess that you need to start with Corporate Strategy. Analysing the three main types of decision-making – Strategic, Administrative and operating – and how they interact.
Then you can look at E-Learning, the core strategy of the business needs to be pretected from diversification.
