Happy Computers win IITT award 2001 for Training Company of the Year

default-16x9

Happy Computers received the prestigious Training Company of the Year award from the Institute of IT Trainers (IITT) at this years ceremony held at the Dorchester Hotel in London.

The company who are based in London offer IT training mainly around Microsoft Office solutions and state that one of the reasons for their success at this years awards were because they have a real genuine passion for IT training.

Happy Computers are aware that there are many excellent training providers in their field of expertise but Henry Stewart, who originally set up the company just over ten years ago say they are different because they do not have a sales team and that most of their training is sold word-of-mouth.

Stewart stated to TrainingZONE that IT training at the end of the day is not about the technology that they learn about but it is the people themselves feeling good with what they are doing. This he feels is endorsed by the amount of customer delight, not satisfaction he stressed, he felt impressed the judges at this years awards event. Also the fact that in the current climate their company is expanding by 37% and are at this moment looking to recruit ten additional IT Trainers to cope with demand for their IT training courses.

Another factor he feels helped them win this award was for their innovation in the development of a completely new style of learning which Stewart referred to as blended learning. This is a combination of classroom and online learning. This means that those attending the training is based around the classroom style of asking questions and involvement which they can also obtain from their online learning programme. One of the programmes they offer is the European Computer Driving License (ECDL) as this provides an ideal solution within which to deliver this method of training.

There will always be that human interaction available that cannot be gained from most existing online learning solutions. Many people are put off online learning if they cannot get an answer to their questions immediately, this Stewart feels they have resolved.

99.9% (Stewarts quote) of their courses are delivered by fully qualified TAP IT Trainers which is the IITT recognised qualification standard and this he states also guarantees that those that attend the training know that they are going to receive a course in a relaxed working environment with friendly tutors of high quality.

Happy Computers also support small local charities and allow every member of staff the opportunity of working one day per month within the local community, for example, they have teamed up with a local Special Needs School where they give their services free of charge for the day.

Currently Happy Computers have a turnover of around £2 million and are discussing possibilities of international partnerships because as Stewart stated American Companies are moving across to the UK to deliver their training solutions so it is time that the UK moved across to do the same in America.
