default-16x9

An anti-virus vendor MessageLabs have recently conducted a survey that highlighted that the Lovebug virus which caused many disasters for Internet users in May last year is set to make another appearance in time for this years Valentines Day.

It was estimated that this e-mail worm caused around £4.8bn worth of damage worldwide and that even despite the publicity that this virus has received that MessageLab have estimated that around as much as a third of business e-mail users around the UK could still be tempted to open such an e-mail on the 14 February.

Internet messages that tend to catch people out are those that appeal to their curiosity and MessageLab have found that 54% would open an e-mail titled Great Joke, 50% for Look at this, 46% at Re. Message, 40% at No Title and 39% at Special Offer.

It is reported that out of those surveyed 11% had received the Love Bug last year.
