Macromedia software flaw could allow access for hackers

default-16x9

A user of the Macromedia Flash Player plugin for internet browsers reported a flaw in this application that could enable unauthorised and potentially malicious access to code that could be executed on a PC.

The software has a buffer overflow vulnerability that gets around the programs built-in security which could be exploited by uploading viruses, Trojan horses or other such programs to a computer with Flash installed on it.

Macromedia technical experts are looking into the situation and are not ready to comment until they have investigated the problem. A security experts does not think that there will be a serious problem, just as long as Macromedia provide a swift patch and that people using Flash will quickly install it.
