default-16x9

NetIQ Corporation are a provider of e-business infrastructure software have recently announced that they will be launching their software next year for migrating from Microsoft Exchange 5.5 to the recently released Microsoft Exchange 2000 messaging platform.

The company whose headquarters are in Santa Clara, California states that their Exchange Migrator 1.0 will enable selective migration of Exchange mailboxes, distribution lists, custom recipients and public folders between Exchange organisations.

NetIQ's version has the capability to allow users to select specific mailboxes and other objects for independent migration whereas Microsoft's exchange move server wizard allows an entire server migration between sites or organisations.

The software provided by NetIQ will allow the user more flexibility by allowing them to choose what they wish to migrate and by allowing a phased migration will mean that users can test products thoroughly beforehand. This software will also enable migration between sites of the same organisation or allow inter-organisation migration for when companies do merge or if smaller organisations emerge as a result of a larger organisation.

This software will also allow reconciliation of distribution lists, they will remain properly referenced as contact or custom recipient objects in the distribution list membership, should they be moved from one organisation to another.
