Utah State University is offering a unique 3 credit online course at the department of Instructional Technology:

INST 6780: Online Chats & Discussions in Education

This course surveys a broad spectrum of tools and instructional designs for online chats and threaded discussions. Learning activities include posting regularly to different types of discussions, taking part in a weekly chat, and designing and moderating within small groups. Text, voice and video systems will be utilized, with an emphasis on tools that are practical within educational environments. The goal is to help participants explore new styles and new tehniques which they can then add to their teaching options.
