Skillgate take an interesting approach to online learning.

This is from their own briefing:

"What is the key to the SkillGate learning?
SkillGate learning is proactive.
By this we mean training comes to the delegate over time. Bit-by-bit by email every day (or at least regularly).
Short learning "bites" fit easily into busy schedules, offer the primary lessons and can point to more detailed on-line reference. Bites can be used as learning in their own right or as reinforcement for other learning media such as in-house training or short courses.
Bites can be offered as "read only" - semi-interactive - or fully interactive with tutor support and can incorporate learning supported by occasional expert intervention and/or peer-to-peer networking.

What are the elements of a typical proactive Skillgate Course?
1. A regular programme of learning "bites".
2. On-line, detailed reference material, self tests, and links to approriate web sources.
3. Continuous post-course briefings, updates and reinforcement through the "club" features"

Their current range of coures covers:
- Intro. to Financial Markets
- Results with People
- Time Management
- Performance Management
- Finance
- Revealing Statistics

It's worth a browse through the site to see what they're doing.
