Sun Microsystems challenge Microsoft .Net strategy

default-16x9

Sun Microsystems are expected to announce in the near future information about a range of web-based software systems they have developed intended to challenge Microsoft's .Net strategy.

One of these systems is a software toolkit called Brazil, that intends to simplify the development of web-enabled applications and along with Sun's iPlanet software, is part of a long-term vision intended to create resuable internet services.

The Brazil project is a web-based infrastructure that should enable people to link securely to information, computers and other devices, based on existing standards and protocols. It is also devised to provide a more flexible architecture for adding URL-based interfaces to enable legacy applications onto the system.
