What to ask for from e-learning Suppliers?

default-16x9

I have been asked to produce a questionnaire of questions which should be asked to e-learning suppliers. I am looking for companies which can supply e-learning on a variety of courses through either one hit or licence.

  1. You are not alone
Last week at the Training Solutions show I spoke to a number of people who all asked the same thing. What I suggest this indicates is a lot of Training buyers/ procurement departments who are being sent out into the eLearning market clearly without the back ground and core knowledge needed to make decisive and informed choices. The market is still very immature and their seems to be a lack of solid data/verbal recommendations on which to draw on. Forums like this are key to sharing this kind of information. I hope you get the responses you (and many others like you) need.

  2. This link helped me tremendously…
I had the same problem as you recently: if you do not know the options, you do not know what to ask.. This link helped me a lot on the technical aspects of e-learning. Regarding content or organisational credibility, you would need to refer to other materials.

  3. Independent Suppliers
    Niki

I understand the situation you are in and I used to be in the same boat when I worked for Lloyds TSB with suppliers contacting me left right and centre.

I now work for one of those suppliers, sort of ‘gamekeeper turned poacher’?

The company I work for positions itself as an independent supplier, which means we look to evaluate and deal with those companies we believe are market leading.

We look to build long term relationships with our clients and have established many during our 12 years in technology based training.

If you would like to know more about us click on http://www.mmt.uk.com or drop me an e-mail

    Best regards

  4. Independent e-learning suppliers

You’re right, this is a real minefield and you might find it useful to talk BAOL (The British Association for Open Learning). A number of their members – including Open Mind – have been watching and discussing e-learning developments for the past two years and can offer totally objective advice.

Their number is 01462 485588 and mine is 01491 411061 ([email protected]) – and we won’t try to sell you anything.

  5. I believe I can help!
    Hi Niki,

Whilst we are an e-Learning supplier (amongst other things!), I have an article entitled “Two Hundred Criteria for Choosing a Training Management System” that may help. It is an independently written piece that I am happy to share with you. Please contact me if you would like a copy.
