Trainer’s Tip: Performance Management Game

Equus
Sue Beatt explains the picture, play or song exercise.

An exercise that I've run before and is great fun is to split your group into three teams. Ask each team to pick one of three pre-prepared envelopes. In each envelope is one word: picture, play or song.

They then have 30 minutes to draw a picture, write a play or write a song, depending on which envelope they have chosen. Whichever they have to do, it should contain the learning messages from the whole event.

I sometimes give the people who are doing the play a box of 'props' which can be anything, the more diverse the better! At the end of 30 minutes they perform their play or song or present and explain their picture. If you have a member of senior management present, they could be a judge and you can give prizes for the best.

Although people may initially groan at the thought, they are amazingly inventive.
