Making the Most of Your Time.
By Julie-Ann Amos.
Essentials (How to Books Ltd).
Paperback, 64 pages,
Price £5.
ISBN 1 85703 519 4

If you have not read a book on time management or do not possess one of the previously published works on the subject, this is a very useful introduction to the subject.

Written clearly in almost summary form it covers all the main aspects of advice given to people on time management. The topics covered include Understanding time management (limits, goals, barriers and rewards); Effectiveness and efficiency (including ‘to-do’ lists); Planning (keeping a diary, scheduling, using spare time, stopping power games); Delegating and dealing with people (including managing interruptions); Dealing with physical organization (desks, clutter); and Dealing with paperwork and administration.
There is nothing new in the book, but it is useful as a practical summary and reminder of good time practices, from which you can follow-on to more detailed publications (although there is no recommended reading list).
