National Training Organisations to play central role in skills revolution

The National Training Organisations will play a pivotal role in plans to raise the levels of workforce skills to make Britain a world class competitor among knowledge-driven economies the Education and Employment Secretary, David Blunkett, told the NTO National Council today.

Awarding the National Training Organisations National Council the Investors in People Award at its Sheffield headquarters, Mr Blunkett said:

"I congratulate the NTO National Council on gaining the Investors in People award. The award is an important step towards ensuring that the whole of the NTO network aspires to building stronger and more effective NTOs. As the representative body and an Investor in People, NTO NC is now well equipped to play a pivotal role in taking forward our skills revolution."
