Peter Honey Learning – launch of new resources website

default-16x9

Key learning and behaviour author, consultant and speaker Dr Peter Honey has relaunched his consultancy website to include some interesting learning-related interactive features.

www.peterhoneylearning.com features the Learning Series, four modules concerned with learning styles, motivation to learn, learning environment and learning skills. Each module features a questionnaire, analysis and planning for the learner to work through to create a learner needs analysis which can be accessed and reviewed at any time.

To access the site, you need to register with a few details, which enables you to benchmark your learning styles with others doing the same job. At the end of each questionnaire, the learner is given a score against which they can compare themselves against others in the same job role. The results will identify strengths and weaknesses in the questionnaire responses and will make suggestions for action. You can then access the resources area, which will give a brief descriptions of the area which needs to be worked on. Also on its way is a development screen for the learner to use - they can keep this on the site or print it off, and should revisit it on a regular basis.

Peter Honey Learning's Director of E-learning Peter Cheviss was keen to stress the aim of the Learning Series as raising the importance of learning as the core competence around which all others revolve. "learning as an issue is becoming of strategic importance because of the rate of change in the workplace is increasing, there's far more competition. There are two ways in which individuals learn, formally through structured sessions and informally, through intangible learning. The Learning Series is all about improving the process of intangible learning.

The articles area carried through from the old site contains Peter's ever-growing library of thought-provoking and often humourous articles stretching back some 20 years. There are currently 60 on the site, with 20 more to follow. These can be searched by word heading, and feature rollover descriptions of what's in each story, a useful function also common to the resources area.

The Learning Series is being made available in three formats: on the Internet via the website; using an Extranet or a company Intranet. To log in to the site initially at this stage, ring 01628 633946 or e-mail [email protected].
