Powerpoint Transition Effects-Text

default-16x9

I am trying to put together a presentation and want to pause each bullet point for further explaination, before moving onto the next point. How can I pause point by point without using individual textboxes? I have looked at Help which was no help and tried custom animation. I have demoted text to see if that helped - it didn't. I am sure I was able to achieve my aim in PowerPoint 97 but am stuck in PowerPoint 2000. Does anyone know what I am doing wrong?

  1. Paused Bullet Point
When you set the custom animation, in the Order & Timing Tab, click the On Mouse Click radio button.
In the Effect Tab select Introduce Text and check Group By 1st-for first level bulletts, 2nd-for second level etc.

  2. The ‘Slide Show’ menu
Select the text box, go to “Slide Show” in the toolbar. Select “Preset Animation” from the drop down menu, and choose the animation you like. I usually find “Appear” or “Wipe Right” work best.
