- over 2.3 million certificates have been awarded
- over 880 NVQs now available
- over 88% of the employed population covered
- more people are working towards an NVQ than are studying for A levels (789,000 people towards an NVQ compared to 295,100 studying A levels)
- an NVQ is awarded every 16 seconds of a working day
- 81% of people holding an NVQ are in employment
- 64% of people holding an NVQ are aged 25 and over
- 43% of employers, with 25 employees or more, offer NVQs to at least some of their workers
- 86% of employers using NVQs are satisfied or very satisfied with them
