The Institute of Personnel and Development has welcomed the publication of the Macpherson inquiry report into the death of Stephen Lawrence. The IPD has promoted its 'Managing Diversity' policy for several years, arguing that a diverse workforce brings many benefits to an organisation. The IPD is critical of the poor practice of anti-discrimination work in many organisations, despite the policy framework which appears to be in place.
