Compliance Training

default-16x9

I am trying to find out how companies deliver training in the compliance elements of their organisation. For example, H&S, Foreign Corrupt Practices Act, Code of Conduct etc.

Does anyone have any creative delivery modes on these?

  1. Yes
    Hi Sue

I took a scenario based approach. After a brief introduction (10 minutes) to the topic, I then split the delegates into groups with work books filled with scenarios that they would complete. After 3 – 4 scenarios, we would discuss around it and expand on what I told them in the introduction. Beats droning through a powerpoint presentation for a few hours!

    Hope this helps

  2. Theres nothing better than e-learning for compliance training.
What about e-learning options. We provide many companies with H&S generic courses and bespoke courses for compliance training. Our developers are very creative offering High quality learning content, with a good level of interactivity, simulations plus testing and providing a full audit trail gives you the perfect solution, for the learner, the Trainers and the organisation. If you would like to see examples just let me know.

  3. Keep it real
The key to any type of ‘dry’ training like this is to keep it real.

Although I agree with Rich about the scenarios I feel that 3 or 4 would be too many at one time. Perhaps a ‘day in the life of …’ scenario where each learner had a number of compliance issues to deal with in their job would be a good idea.

This type of training needs to have as much variety and richness as possible. Try accelerated learning and multiiple intelligence techniques for a deep learning experience.

We deliver all of our training, including compliance topics such as Data Protection and Caldicott in the NHS (which is as dry as it gets!) in this way and I would be happy to talk to you about ideas for your particular topics if you want to email me.

    Good luck with it.

  4. Compliance Training
I find that designing the training material with a greater bias towards consumer education works best. We started the training session with the question “How does this piece of legislation affect you”, and progressively went on to the company’s compliance measures. I also focussed on the penalties of non-compliance as a way to enforce awareness.
