Team Building Exercise

default-16x9

The purpose of this exercise is to re-energise a team of people who have been working on a Project together since January. There are 3 teams within the Project who don't all know each other because we are from difference orgainsations and new people keep starting with us.

I want an exercise that will cost me time rather than money and will not only re-energise the team, but help people get to know each other a little better.

I need to make it fun and interactive.

Any ideas? (I have to deliver this next Wednesday)

Thanks very much

  1. How about a treasure hunt?
    Hi Ceri-Anne,

If you have the time and enough space, how about a treasure hunt?

We developed one last year for a client that required the group to split into 3 to start with, to solve the clues and find pieces of a puzzle, etc.

They then had to work together to solve a ‘cryptogram’ which told them the location of the treasure.

    I hope this helps!

  2. People Bingo
    Hi Ceri-Anne

With these numbers you could try a people bingo exercise where each person has a single piece of A4 divided into say 30 squares. Each square asks a question like “who uses a gym or who owns a dog etc. etc. This certainly helps people to get to know each other better. Try giving a prize for the first completed sheet. When everyone has finished then start a review with the question what do we know about “Fred” & get the other people to say what they have found out about “Fred”. Follow this through for everyone in the group and you would have used up your hour.

    Hope this helps.

    Ian.

Although this is after the fact, you may want to look at businessballs.com next time for team building games. They have some excellent ideas (including the tried and tested survival game).
