New virus warning for HR people

default-16x9

Extract from the recruitment page on hr-today.com

By Barbara Ling

Remember a few weeks ago when the Love Bug was sent inadvertently all over the Internet? It was a supreme example of human manipulation (the title, I LOVE YOU, apparently struck a chord in many of the recipients, lulling them into a false sense of security), and apparently devastated hundreds of thousands of computers (as well as their owners). ZDNet has a complete anti-virus section dedicated to it.

The Love Bug was not the first virus to hit the Internet, nor will it be the last. The latest virus to appear is especially worrisome for recruiters and employers, as its title is "Resume [= CV] - Janet Simons."

Such a title just begs our peers to open it! Like all the previous viruses uncovered, it will automatically email itself to everyone in your MS Outlook address book if you are unlucky enough to open it, plus mangle your computer in mean and nasty ways. You can read more about it at ZDNet's Killer Resume site.
