IIP gets three new board members

Education and Employment Secretary David Blunkett has announced the appointment of three new members to the board of Investors in People UK.

The IIP UK board will benefit from input from Professor Amin Rajan, Chief Executive of the Centre for Research in Employment and Technology in Europe and member of the Council for Excellence in Management and Leadership, Garry Hawkes, Chairman of the National Training Organisation National Council and Sue Thomas, Director and Board member of Redwood, a large publishing agency who have been brought in to replace existing board members who have reached the end of their period of service. Current Chairman of the board Tim Melville-Ross Chief Executive Ruth Spellman remain in their posts.

As a Non Departmental Public Body, Investors in People UK has a responsibility for mantaining the national Standard for Investors in People, currently delivered through the TECs and soon to be administered by the Learning and Skills Council.
