Learning to Succeed : Update

The DfEE is publishing a series of monthly bulletins to update progress on the White Paper Learning to Succeed - a new framework for post 16 learning. The bulletin will tell people about consultation events and related developments. Copies of this bulletin are posted on the DfEE Post 16 internet site http://www.dfee.gov.uk/post16.
The first issue:
* sets out the various consultation mechanisms that DfEE and the Employment Service (ES) are setting up to take forward the proposals in the White Paper;
* offers some answers to ‘frequently asked questions’ on the White Paper;
* informs people about progress on the review being carried out by Regional Development Agencies to develop advice for the Government on the boundaries for the local Learning and Skills Councils;
* describes the process for establishing the location of the Learning and Skills Council;
* gives information on the launch of the consultation on the new youth support service.
